Announcements

ATTENTION:  Student with Food allergies

Due to new guidelines from the South Carolina Department of Education, from the Office of Nutrition and School Food Services, new procedures are needed to address Students with Food Allergies and Special Dietary Needs. The Student Nutrition Department and your child’s school will need medical documentation of the food related allergy and a copy of the allergy action plan in order to accommodate students with food related medical conditions. This new procedure will be implemented for the 2012-2013 school year.

CHORUS AUDITIONS

Early Morning Chorus auditions for fall semester! Audition for a place on the stage!

We will offer an Early Morning Chorus group for grades 2, 3, and 4 combined which will rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 7:15. A fifth grade chorus will meet on Wednesday mornings at 7:15 and during Leadership Academy Day. Both groups will perform a holiday concert in December.

Auditions for next year’s Early Morning Chorus will take place Wednesday, May 23 during the school day. Auditions will consist of matching pitch, vocal quality, stage presence, and diction. Mrs. Moss and Mrs. Lee will use a rubric to score the auditions. All students in current grades 1, 2, 3, and 4 are welcome to audition but students must discuss with their parents the necessity of arriving to rehearsals on time at 7:15 for the fall semester. Only students who really enjoy singing in front of a group and who are willing to work hard during the early morning should audition. There is also an attendance requirement. We will call students by grade or class.

We will hand out letters inviting students to join the chorus, based on audition scores, on Friday, May 25. Parental permission forms must be signed and returned by Wednesday, May 30 in order for a child to be on the choral roster for the fall. All students must audition every year – including students currently in Early Morning Chorus. Please contact me by email leek@fort-mill.k12.sc.us if you have any questions.

Supply List
2012-13

The grade level supply lists for next year are now available in our resources under Parent/Guardian Information.

NEW POLICY PLEASE NOTE

The district now requires all checks made out to the school to have a current phone number and address on them.  If this information is not printed on the check, parents are welcome to hand write it.  Checks without this information may be returned to the parents.  This includes all check written to the cafeteria.

ATTENTION PARENTS

ALL vistors to our building must check in at the front office and receive a name tag prior to entering the hallways.  This ensures safety for all students and limits interuptions to instruction.  Thank you for your cooperation.
